The Sanctuary of Madonna del Boden is located in Ornavasso, province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont, Italy. The building is cartographed as a place of worship by OpenStreetMap in Via al Boden. The coordinate points to the sanctuary, not the exact point of the tradition narrated on the pastor.
Documented history
The advocation is also known as Madonna dei Miracoli. The city page of Ornavasso places the church of veneration in the 16th century and retains a chronology that has variations between 1522 and the night of 7 September 1528. The existence of the building and its ability to veneration in 1530 are the historical data that can be separated from the extraordinary account; when the sources do not match in the initial year, this fact sheet retains the discrepancy.
The sanctuary is part of the religious memory of Ornavasso and the communities of the valley. Its location in an elevated area explains the name Ground, German voice related to a flare or a flat.
