Marian devotion
Where is he?
The shrine of Our Lady of Consolation is in Zdzieț, within Borek Wielkopolski, in the voivodship of Great Poland. The Archdiocese of Poznań expressly identifies the direction of Zdzieț 1 and includes it among its crowned Marian shrines. The coordinate of this tab is taken from the location cartographed by OpenStreetMap, by the relationship of the place and its named node of Borek Wielkopolski; therefore the accuracy is localityNot an exact building.
Documented history
Devotion retains the historical name of Zdzieț although the place is integrated today in Borek Wielkopolski. This continuity of toponyms explains why the advocation appears as Our Lady of the Consolation of Zdzieț and as Our Lady of Borek. They are not two different sanctuaries: it is the same place of worship as described by the Archdiocese of Poznań.
The Archdiocesan documentation records the sanctuary among those who received coronation by papal authority and date the coronation of the image on July 2, 1931. A homily of the same archdiocese in 2019 recalls the fourth centenary of the institution of the sanctuary in Zdzieț. The combination of both data shows a long-term public cult and an institutional history that goes through several generations.
The Archdiocese calendar mentions several celebrations of the sanctuary, including the days near the anniversary of the coronation and the feast of Our Lady of Consolation. The pilgrimages of groups and public services are part of the current life of the place. These data describe a verifiable religious and community practice; they do not themselves prove each grace attributed to the image.
Tradition
Local tradition attributes to the image protection in times of epidemic and healing received by the faithful. The fact sheet retains these statements on the level of popular devotion. The verified sources for this lot do not contain an individual canonical file that allows each of these stories to be called a medical miracle, nor is there an apparition associated with the sanctuary.
Legend and limits of the record
The ancient sanctuary and the arraigo of its image do not need an added legend to be recognized. The memory transmitted by pilgrims is distinguished from the institutional documentation on direction, coronation and celebrations. When Mary's help is asked, her intercession is asked before God; it is not attributed to the image worship or an independent power.
Ecclesial State
The state is stated as permitted veneration. The Archdiocese of Poznań recognizes Borek Wielkopolski-Zdzieț as a Marian sanctuary crowned by papal authority and documents the coronation of 1931. This recognition refers to public veneration and image; it does not amount to an approval of a supernatural apparition or to the canonization of each account of protection or healing.
Anecdotes and stories
The pilgrimage of public services to the sanctuary is part of the recent memory of the place. The advocation unites a historic locality, a centenary sanctuary and the religious life of Borek Wielkopolski. The preservation of the name Zdzieț in the direction and in the title allows respect for the geography of devotion and avoids confusing it with other claims of Our Lady of Consolation.
Prayer
Holy Mary, Mother of Consolation, pray for our communities and for those suffering from disease, fear or solitude. Teach us to ask for your intercession with faith, to care for the weak and to follow Christ in truth and peace. Amen.

Zdzieț, Borek and the memory of four centuries
The homily pronounced in Borek Wielkopolski on 2 July 2019 recalls the fourth centenary of the institution of the sanctuary in Zdzieț and relates that celebration to the year 1619. It does not appear here as a date of apparition or as a test of miracle: it is a historical reference to the establishment of the sanctuary and to the continuity of its religious and cultural heritage. The direction preserved by the Archdiocese - Zdzieț 1, Borek Wielkopolski - allows to identify the place even though the present municipality and the old name live together in the names.
The archdiocesan record also lists the times of the sanctuary's celebration and recalls the coronation of July 2, 1931. In 2022 a homily of the same archdiocese described the pilgrimage of public services to the church of Zdzieț as a tradition linked to the day of the feast. The existence of these pilgrimages belongs to the recent history of the community. It does not, however, become a proven statement of supernatural protection: the fact sheet keeps in the plan of tradition the accounts of aid during epidemics and of cures attributed to the intercession of Mary.
The difference between Zdzieț and Borek is mainly geographical and historical, not a reason to create two tabs of the same sanctuary. The title of this page retains both names for the reader to find the place with the name of the title and the name of the current municipality. The coordinate is deliberately local: the relationship of OpenStreetMap and the named node of Borek allow the location to be located, but they do not justify pretending to be the exact coordinates of the altar or image.
