Our Lady of Bethany
"Mother Reconciliation of Peoples" · Finca Betania, Cúa (Miranda) - approved appearance
In the Finca Betania, near Cúa, some Marian apparitions officially approved by the Church are venerated: the Virgin, called "Mother Reconciliation of All Peoples and Nations," would have been shown before more than a hundred witnesses.
Origin and history
The first appearance is on March 25, 1976, the feast of the Annunciation, having as seer Mary Esperanza Medrano of Bianchini (Servant of God, with cause of open beatification). On March 25, 1984, during an anniversary mass, a large group - around 150 people, 108 of whom signed testimony - declared that they had seen the Virgin on a waterfall of the place, a vision that would have been repeated several times that afternoon.
Mons. Pio Bello Ricardo, Bishop of Los Teques, opened a diocesan research and, after studying it, issued a pastoral letter on 21 November 1987 declaring that the apparitions were authentic, of supernatural character and divine origin, and the place, a sacred site of pilgrimage and worship - one of the few explicit approvals of Marian apparitions of the twentieth century. The official title is "Mary, Virgin and Mother Reconciliation of all Peoples and Nations"; an image was enthroned in the sanctuary in 2008.
There is no formal canon patronage or canon coronation.
