The Catholic parish of Fergana is one of the most important communities of faith in Uzbekistan. Founded in the 19th century, the parish has served the Catholics of the region for generations.
The Virgin of the Valley
The image of the Virgin of the Valley is a wooden size that represents the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, surrounded by cotton fields and orchards. Tradition says that the Virgin appeared to a farmer in Ferganá during a terrible drought that threatened to destroy the crops.

Agricultural tradition
The farmers of Ferganá tell that before each seed, they went to the parish to pray the Rosary before the image of the Virgin of the Valley. Tradition says that farmers who prayed the Rosary always had abundant crops.
