Our Lady of the Students
The image of Our Lady of the Students is a painting depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, surrounded by books and scrolls. Tradition says that the Virgin inspired the students of the University of Iași to seek knowledge and truth.

Popular devotions
The faithful of Iași flock to the cathedral to light candles for the Virgin Mary and ask for her protection. The most popular tradition is that of the "wishearers' wishes": the faithful write their petitions on slips of paper and place them in a special box next to the image of the Virgin.
