Marian title of Alpedrete (Community of Madrid)

Holder of the parish of Alpedrete and religious patron of the municipality. The advocation has been documented since 1682, the date of one of the oldest written documents preserved from the temple. Historically, the civil devotion of the municipality was shared between Santa Quiteria - a civic patron - and the Virgin of the Assumption as a parish holder. During the Civil War (1936-1939), the church was looted and the original image destroyed. In March 1954, a new wooden size came to Alpedrete from Valencia. The reception event was chaired by Monsignor Juan Ricote, auxiliary bishop of Madrid.

The image and the sanctuary

The image presides over the parish's presbytery and is surrounded by eight windows representing the seven Sacraments and Santa Quiteria. Under the image is a sacred of the Great Art Workshops.
