Our Lady of the Coast
Patrona de Miranda del Castañar (Salamanca)
Extramuros from the walled villa of Miranda del Castañar, which is accessed by the Puerta de Nuestra Señora, a Gothic hermitage keeps the patron of the village, honored with serrana parties around September 8.
Origin and history
The hermitage of the Virgin of the Cuesta is a Gothic building with baroque altarpiece of 1699, located on the hillside, outside the walled villa; it is accessed through the Gate of Our Lady of the Cuesta, the western door of the wall dedicated to the Virgin. Two side doors of the altar give way to the shrimp.
She is a patron of Miranda del Castañar, with patron parties very rooted in the Syrian identity around September 7 and 8. The process access through Our Lady's Gate and the rise to the hermitage are the most appropriate devotional feature.
Canonical coronation: not found in the sources.
