The Virgin of the Ruins
The image of Our Lady of the Ruins is a wooden carving depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, surrounded by ancient columns and arches. Tradition says that the Virgin appeared to an archaeologist from Mary during excavations of ancient Merv.
