The Church of the Holy Mother of God
The Church of the Holy Mother of God in Strumica was built in the 19th century by the town's Christian community. The church houses an image of the Virgin Mary that has been venerated by generations of farmers.
The Virgin of the Fields
The image of Our Lady of the Fields is a painting depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, surrounded by fields of wheat and flowers. Tradition says that the Virgin appeared to a group of farmers who were working in the fields during a drought.

Popular devotions
The faithful of Strumica come to the church to light candles for the Virgin Mary and ask for her protection. The most popular tradition is that of the "Wishes of the Virgin": the faithful write their petitions on slips of paper and place them in a special box next to the image of the Virgin.
