The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary in the Mesaimeer complex in Doha is the first Catholic temple built in Qatar in modern times and the country's main legal Catholic church. The image and the sanctuary

The temple is dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary. It is within the Catholic ecclesial area authorized by the State; a report describes that access passes through barricades, thorn wire and metal control, reflecting the security context of the enclosure. It does not contain an image with its own miraculous history or Marian legend of the temple.

Su titularidad es la Virgen del Rosario. Patronazgo local propio o coronación canónica documentada: no consta. La advocación regional que da identidad a los fieles del Golfo es Nuestra Señora de Arabia, patrona del Vicariato Apostólico de Arabia del Norte, al que pertenece Catar.

Party and devotion

La fiesta litúrgica universal de la Virgen del Rosario es el 7 de octubre, pero no consta que se celebre en Catar con carácter solemne propio más allá de la vida pastoral ordinaria. El templo es el principal punto de reunión sacramental y devocional, con misas en distintas lenguas, entre ellas en portugués para fieles migrantes.

El propio título del templo, Nuestra Señora del Rosario, hace del rezo del Rosario el corazón de su vida devocional. En él se reúne una red de piedad migrante de muchas nacionalidades en torno a la oración mariana. El Rosario es el principal lazo espiritual de esta comunidad reunida en la única iglesia católica del país.
