Marian devotion
Where is he?
The Pilgrimage Center of Our Lady of Giang Sħn is located on a hill of Giang Sħn, on the territory of the diocese of Ban Mê Thuğ t, in the current Vietnamese province of Đő k Lħk. The diocesan fountain is approximately 30 kilometres south-east of Buôn Ma Thuğ t, next to the national road to Đà Lħt, and relates it to the parish and church district of Giang Sůn. The point of the map corresponds to the town of Giang Sħn identified by OpenStreetMap; it is not presented as the exact coordinates of the statue.
Documented history
The story published by the diocese of Ban Mê Thuğ t indicates that the priest José Nguyņn Hħu Nghē began the construction of the monument in 1961. After two years of work, the priest John Bautista Trussalam n Thanh Ngoņn presided over the blessing and the solemn opening for three days, from 13 to 15 August 1963. The source does not describe a local apparition: it documents the construction of a monumental statue and the celebration of its blessing.
The statue is 6.32 meters and was made by the sculptor Đinh Văn Lħng, of the parish of Phát Diļm, then linked to the diocese of Saigon. The monument was raised on a rocky hill at about 823 metres of altitude. Access from the road to the statue is about a mile and a half along a steep slope road. These data describe the place and its architecture without turning the dimensions of the monument into a supernatural affirmation.
In 2000, the priest Pedro Bòi Văn Thħc promoted the restoration of the pedestal, which was covered with granite, along with the expansion of the explanade and the reinforcement of the walls. The diocesan fountain also describes improvements to the road and spaces for pilgrims to rest. The material history of the monument therefore includes an initial construction, a liturgical opening and a later restoration.
The diocese presents Giang Sħn as one of its great pilgrimage centers. Liturgies are held on the third day of the lunar year, some first Saturdays and, in an outstanding way, August 15, solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The presence of families, older persons, young people, pregnant women and communities of different backgrounds is part of the devotional life described by the institutional source.
Tradition and devotion
The pilgrims come to Giang Sħn to pray, entrust their concerns to the intercession of Mary and participate in the liturgy. The memory of the place is also attached to the hill of the Holy Cross and the road to the road to the crucis. The relationship between the two hills allows visitors to meditate on the passion and resurrection of Christ, with Mary as a disciple and a believing mother.
The diocesan source collects the language of protection and comfort used by pilgrims. That language belongs to devotion. The fact sheet does not present as proven the particular graces that a person can attribute to his prayer, nor does it turn them into recognized miracles.
Legend and limits of the record
There is no approved local apparition or a decree that recognizes a miracle of Giang Sħn. The inauguration of 1963, the restoration of 2000, the masses and the influx of pilgrims are made of history and public veneration. They should not be confused with a statement of supernatural. When visitors speak of protection or favors, they are testimonies and pious tradition until there is a public ecclesial research that establishes otherwise.
Ecclesial State
Se consigna veneration _ permitted to reflect that the diocese of Ban Mê Thuğ t maintains a Catholic pilgrimage center there with celebrations and pastoral attention. This classification does not mean that the Church has approved a concrete apparition or miracle. Marian devotion calls for the intercession of Mary and leads to Christ; worship is reserved to God.
Anecdotes and stories
The history of the monument shows how an initiative of 1961 became a community-sustained pilgrimage site. The restoration of the year 2000 was not a new beginning, but an intervention to care for pedestal, esplanade and access. The annual celebration of August 15 retains the memory of the opening and brings together pilgrims around the liturgy.
The diocesan fountain also describes the experience of the road: many visitors first pass through the hill of the Holy Cross and then go up to the image of Mary. This journey is understood within the Christian faith as a meditation on the way of Jesus and the faithful presence of his Mother, not as a magical itinerary or as proof of a prodigy.
Prayer
Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus, accompanies those who go up to the hill of Giang Sħn. He pleads for families, for the peoples of Đńk Lħk and for all pilgrims who have a concern in the heart. Teach us to walk with faith with your Son, to serve those who suffer and to live with hope. Amen.

Historical context and prudence
Giang Sħn is best understood as a pilgrimage center born around a monumental statue. The diocesan source provides a concrete sequence: beginning in 1961, blessing and opening from 13 to 15 August 1963 and restoration of the pedestal in 2000. It also explains the present life of the place through the celebrations of the liturgical calendar and the arrival of pilgrims. That sequence is enough to tell the story without adding undocumented stories.
The proximity of the hill of the Holy Cross helps to understand the spirituality of the journey. The pilgrims contemplate the way of Christ and, before Mary, give up their concerns and seek their intercession. The fact sheet distinguishes this religious experience from a historical statement about apparitions or miracles: public worship is documented, but there is no pronunciation of supernatural.
The cartographic search offered two locations called Giang Sħn in ĐŚk Lħk. The Dry Bhăng / CħKuin node was chosen because the diocesan fountain places the centre approximately to the southeast of Buôn Ma Thuğ t, on the route to Đà Lħt. So the point is labeled as locality and not as a verified building. This caution avoids presenting as an exact GPS of the statue a coordinate that only identifies the territorial environment.
A pilgrimage of intercession
The image of Giang Sħn is not presented as a divinity. The faithful worship Mary and ask her to pray for them before God, especially for families, the sick and those who are in difficulties. The path of the Holy Cross, Mass and Prayer before the statue form a Christian itinerary whose center is Jesus Christ. Maintaining this distinction allows us to respect the devotion of the diocese and to describe it faithfully.
