The image and the sanctuary

Its headline is San José, so the Marian dimension of the temple is indirect and expressed in community devotions. There is no Marian advocation or an image with miraculous history documented in the sources provided.

Sponsorship and coronation

The title is San José; it is not a Marian advocation. Own Marian patronage or canonical coronation: not recorded. The Marian patronage of the region corresponds to Our Lady of Arabia.

Party and devotion

The main party is that of San José. The Marian devotion there is pastoral and popular, lived by the migrant communities around the Marian calendar parties. In 2019 the mass of Pope Francis in Abu Dabi reinforced the devotional identity of the community, although it was not a Marian celebration in a strict sense.

Link to the Rosary

The Rosary is common practice among the Filipino, Indian and Arab communities that come to the cathedral, within the ordinary Marian piety of the Church. They do not contain, in the sources provided, specific practices of the Rosary and documented as specific to this temple.
