His life
Catalina Benincasa was born on March 25, 1347 in Siena, Italy. At the age of 16, he entered the order of the secular Dominicans.

Catherine had a deep devotion to the Virgin Mary. He prayed the Rosary daily and attributed his wisdom to the intercession of the Mother of God.
His writings

His death
He died on April 29, 1380 in Rome, at the age of 33. He was canonized in 1461 and declared a doctor of the Church in 1970.
