In the district of Shirin, north of the city of Taipei, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal of Lanya offers a pilgrimage place inspired by the apparitions of the rue du Bac of Paris and the Vincentian spirituality.
Chinese name: The Holy Virgin of Ranya.

De la Santa Cruz at a Marian shrine
The parish community of Lanya has been documented since the 1960s. After a pastoral and material renewal, the archdiocese officially changed the name of the ancient church of the Holy Cross to that of Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Miracle Medalwith effect from 14 January 2017.
The opening and liturgical blessing of the new space took place on 19 February 2017, chaired by Archbishop John Hung Shan@-@ chuan. The Taiwanese Catholic press documented both the preparation of the site and its first solemn mass.
The Medalla Milagrosa
The advocation was born from the mystical experiences of Saint Catherine Labouré, Daughter of Charity, in the chapel of the rue du Bac in Paris in 1830. The medal represents Mary standing on the world, with rays that symbolize the graces granted by God; on her back appear the cross, the letter M, and the hearts of Jesus and Mary.
The traditional invocation - "O Mary, without sin conceived, pray for us that we resort to You" - expresses confidence in the maternal intercession of the Immaculate. The medal is not an amulet: it refers to faith in Christ and calls for a sacramental and charitable life.
A pilgrimage house in the city
The community celebrates its patronage on November 27, the liturgical memory of the Miraculous Medal. It maintains daily mass, Sunday Eucharist, weekly worship and pastoral activities. In the Jubilee of 2025 it was one of the places chosen by the archdiocese for the pilgrimages of hope.

Prayer to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal of Lanya
O Mary, without conceived sin, pray for us that we turn to you. From your sanctuary of Lanya, teach us to receive God's graces with humility and to turn them into works of mercy. Keep the city of Taipei, comfort the sick and bring every pilgrim to the heart of your Son. Amen.
