Mary, disciple and mother in pain

Invocation does not glorify suffering by itself. She contemplates Mary because she remained faithful to Jesus when violence, misunderstanding and death seemed to have the last word. His pain is that of a mother, but also that of a disciple who continues to believe and accompany.

Pope Francis recalled that Christian piety gathers seven moments: the prophecy of Simeon; the flight to Egypt; the loss of Jesus in the temple; the encounter on the way to Calvary; crucifixion and death; descent; and burial. All lead to Christ and help pray with those who suffer.

A rural parish of Ma-yuan

The directory of the diocese of Hualien clearly identifies the parish of Ma-yuan with the title "Our Lady of the Seven Dolores," and publishes its direction. The Taiwanese regional seminar also confirms that it is still a parish of origin of bunun Catholics with priestly vocation.

The sources consulted do not offer a matching foundational date or a complete construction chronicle. By historical fidelity, this page does not assign a year. The absence of a proven date does not diminish the value of a living community, but does make it necessary to distinguish the known from the still pending investigation.

Precise classification: Ma-yuan is a parish church dedicated to Our Lady of the Seven Dolores. It does not consist of a canon sanctuary or a place of apparition. Its uniqueness comes from the titular dedication, the bunun community that supports it and its local pastoral life.

Ma-yuan and the Bunun people

The National Register of the Taiwan Cultural Memory describes Ma-yuan as a village in the Takivatan group of the Bunun people. His old name, Mahawan, is related in the oral tradition to "the place where there was a wooden box." The ancestors of the community moved east from the central mountains and, after other changes caused by conflict and disease, settled in the surroundings of the Fuyuan River.

The Catholic Church and the Presbyterian Church are part of the current landscape of the village. This Christian presence must be narrated in respect of the Bunun history, without reducing its traditions to a mere picturesque background. The faith of the inhabitants is expressed within one's own identity, language and memory.

The seven pains in a community that accompanies

A newsletter of the Legion of Mary describes the building for its recognizable grey M-shaped façade and the community space in front. He points out that every Sunday Mass is celebrated and that great celebrations can bring together many faithful.

The local fraternity chose the name "Consuelo de los Afligidos." Its members visit, pray and collaborate in parish life. Thus, the contemplation of Mary's pains is not locked in an image: it becomes close to those who go through illness, mourning, solitude or family difficulty.

Do not confuse pain with resignation

Mary at the foot of the cross does not teach to tolerate abuses or to silence her in the face of injustice. His fidelity sustains hope and calls for the protection of human dignity. In the face of domestic violence, danger or violation of rights, the Christian response includes asking for help, protecting the victim and going to the competent services.

The Virgin Dolorosa accompanies those who suffer and reminds the community of their responsibility: no one must bear only one cross imposed by the violence of others.

Verified location

The diocese publishes "Ma-yuan, neighboring group 3, number 57." Google's individual cartographic record identifies the temple as " 23.578885, 121.3613963, with the code 7QM3H9H6+HH. The cartographic direction may appear administratively associated with Fuyuan / Ruisui via the access route, but the ecclesial and cultural division is Ma-yuan, the municipality of Wanrong.

To visit

It is an active rural parish and a meeting place in the village. The schedule should be confirmed before the movement. No people, celebrations or cultural bunun elements should be photographed without consent. A respectful visit listens to the community and does not turn its faith or identity into a show.

Prayer to Our Lady of the Seven Dolores of Ma- yuan

Mother Dolorosa, who you remained faithful to the cross, accompanies the families of Ma@-@ yuan and the entire Bunun people. It comforts those who cry, strengthens the sick and protects those who suffer violence or neglect. Teach us not to go through the pain of others and to serve with the tenderness of Christ. Save this community, its elders, its children, its language and its memory. Amen.
