History of the sanctuary
The basilica was built to serve Houston's growing Mexican community. The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was brought from Mexico.
Every December 12th, thousands of faithful celebrate the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe with masses, processions and dances.
