During the Vietnam War, the Catholics of Huğ prayed to the image of the Virgin of Peace. Tradition tells that the Virgin protected the city from destruction.
A soldier said that, in the middle of battle, he saw a light over the church. When the light disappeared, the fight stopped. The soldiers on both sides were amazed.
Today, the Virgin of Peace is the patron of the archdiocese of Huğ.
The Virgin of Peace brings calm in the midst of the storm.
