Marian devotion

Origin and history
In Hiruhārama (Jerusalem), on the banks of the Whanganui River, the French religious Suzanne Aubert (Meri Hōhepa) founded in 1892 the Sisters of Compassion, in a deeply uncultured Marian mission with the Maori people. Declared Venerable in 2016, its cause of beatification is alive: it would be the first saint of New Zealand. The church of San José, with Māori sizes (whakairo, tukutuku), is one of the most loved in the country.
Party and devotion
Marian-Maori mission and cradle of the first possible New Zealand saint. Devotion is a sign of identity of your community.
Link to the Rosary
In the most remote islands of the Pacific, where faith often arrived by sea, the Rosary remains the simple prayer that unites every heart with Mary, from island to island and from generation to generation.
