Origin and history
El santuario de la Inmaculada Concepción de «La Conception», cerca de Numea, fue el primer asentamiento de los Padres Maristas en 1855. Su iglesia (1874-1875), de inconfundible cúpula azul y con una réplica de 2,8 m de Nuestra Señora de Fourvière, es conocida como «la iglesia de los milagros» por sus innumerables exvotos. Cada 15 de agosto, miles de fieles peregrinan a pie desde sus parroquias.
