Our Lady of Fuensanta is the patron saint and perpetual mayor of Coín (Málaga). Tradition tells that in 1487 the Virgin appeared to a shepherd; a miracle showed how she had chosen and sanctified the cave and spring that sheltered her for so many years, from which the name "Holy Spring" comes.

The image and the sanctuary
It is venerated in its hermitage in Coín. The image, from the 15th century, measures barely 11 centimeters and, according to some versions, was brought by one of the knights who participated in the conquest of the town.

Celebration and devotion
Their pilgrimage takes the patron saint to her hermitage; between May 22nd and 30th, she returns to her sanctuary. Devotion to her is a defining characteristic of the town.

In the cave and the spring, God hid a treasure for his people; the Rosary is the inner cave where, in silence, the "holy fountain" of prayer springs forth.
