Origin and history

The Cathedral of Nidaros, in Trondheim, is the most important Gothic monument in Norway (1070-1300) and was the great pilgrimage place of northern Europe in the Middle Ages, erected on the tomb of Saint Olav. Although dedicated to San Olav, its great northern roseton is chaired by the Virgin with the Child, Marian sign of the temple, testimony of devotion to Mary in Norway prior to the Reformation.

Link to the Rosary

In this land where faith has known centuries, trials, and resurgences, the Rosary remains the simple thread that unites our hearts with Mary. To pray it here is to join the generations who, through this same devotion, entrusted their lives, their communities, and their hope to the Mother.
