Marian devotion
Our Lady of Tiscar
Patrona de Quesada

The tradition attributes the apparition or finding of the image to the Muslim knight Cid Hiaya - later baptized as Pedro de Granada Venegas - or, according to other variants, to a pastor; the image would have been found in a cave near the castle of Tiscar after the conquest of the area, between the 13th and 14th centuries. Historically, the sanctuary has been documented since the Middle Ages, although the specific details of the apparition belong to the legendary tradition and must be distinguished from the historical data.
