Santa María de Viru- Nigula

Marian devotion

Origin and history

The chapel of Santa Maria de Viru@-@ Nigula, from the 13th century, is the oldest Marian sanctuary in Estonia. According to tradition, he rose to celebrate a victory of 1268. Today it is the country's main destination of Catholic Marian pilgrimage: every year, since May 1, 2000, Estonian Catholics walk here.

Link to the Rosary

In this land where faith has known centuries, trials, and resurgences, the Rosary remains the simple thread that unites our hearts with Mary. To pray it here is to join the generations who, through this same devotion, entrusted their lives, their communities, and their hope to the Mother.
