Our Lady of the Forget, Triumph and Mercy

From the vision of Sister Patrocio in Madrid (1831) to the sanctuary of Guadalajara

A Marian advocation born of a vision attributed to Sister Patrocino, "the nun of the sores," in the Madrid convent of the Knight of Grace in 1831; his image is now sold among the Conceptionists of Guadalajara.

Origin and history

The tradition places the origin of this advocation in 1831, when, according to the pious account, the Virgin appeared to the young conceptionist Sister Patrocino in the convent of the Knight of Grace, in the center of Madrid - next to the present Great Way - and gave her an image to venerate under the title of Our Lady of the Forgotten, Triumph and Mercy. It should be noted that this is a very widespread private devotion, not an appearance officially recognized by the Church as Lourdes or Fatima.

The 19th century image survived the decriminalization and persecution of the community, and today it is preserved in the convent of the Franciscan Conceptionists of Guadalajara, where Sister Patrocino also rests. Her title summarizes a message of trust: Mary who does not forget her children, who reaches triumph over evil and who spills mercy on sinners and needy.
