The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Saigon, in the Phú Nhuận district, is one of the most active Marian centers in Ho Chi Minh City. The Redemptorists, who arrived in Vietnam in 1924, spread this devotion, which today draws thousands of faithful every Wednesday.

  • The icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Saigon is a replica of the original Byzantine icon venerated in Rome, enthroned in 1928.
  • Every Wednesday, the church is filled with devotees who come for the novena of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, following the worldwide Redemptorist tradition.
  • During the Vietnam War, the church remained open and was a refuge for many faithful who came to the Virgin for protection.
  • Today it is one of the most visited Marian shrines in South Vietnam, with special devotion among the Vietnamese-speaking Catholic community.

It is invoked especially for urgent needs and seemingly hopeless situations.
