In the Tremedal saw, over Orihuela del Tremedal, we will venerate Our Lady of the Tremedal, patron of the village, in a sanctuary reconstructed after the avatars of war.
Origin and history
The tradition places the origin in the apparition of the Virgin to a manco shepherd on the hill of the Tremedal, to whom he would have asked to build a hermitage; it is devotional legend.
The documentation collected a renovation of the temple in 1748, its fire by French troops in 1809 and its reconstruction from 1880 with plans of architect Fernando Yarza. The patron of Orihuela del Tremedal was crowned canonically in 1952; his sanctuary is a place of pilgrimage and Romeria, with a previous ninth.
