An image appeared in the valley near the Monastery of El Escorial.
The tradition tells that in the valley next to the Monastery of El Escorial appeared an image of the Virgin. The faithful built a hermitage in the place. Devotion has been transmitted from generation to generation, although it has not been officially recognized as Marian apparition.
The Monastery of El Escorial, founded by Philip II, is one of the most important monuments in Spain and has many Marian relics. The tradition of the valley is complemented by the actual history of the monastery.
