In Lusaka, the Cathedral of St. Mary is the center of the Catholic faith. The Zambian faithful venerate the Virgin of Fatima with processions and songs in the Bemba language.
Tradition tells that during the 1992 drought, Zambian Catholics prayed the Rosary for 40 days. The ninth day, it started to rain. The faithful attributed the miracle to the intercession of the Virgin of Fatima.
