To the southwest of the historic city of Levočain eastern Slovakia, the Marianska time, la «montaña de María». En su cima hay una basílica menor dedicada a la Visitación de la Virgen, y allí se venera a Our Lady of Levočain one of the largest Marian shrines in the country. Information in Spanish is scarce, and much comes from Slovak sources; it is therefore appropriate to note with care what is tradition.

The Marian cult on this hill dates back to the Middle Ages, when a small chapel dedicated to the Virgin was erected; the exact dating varies according to the sources. Unlike Šiluva or Lourdes, in Levoča no consta a well-documented Marian apparition story: what there is is an ancient devotion of pilgrimage to a venerated image as miraculous, strengthened in the trial times - epidemics, wars, Ottoman pressure. Local tradition speaks of graces and possible miracles, but not of a foundational fact with precise canonical account.

Whole families come up at night, walking miles, to reach the top at dawn.

It is documented that the hill was already a place of pilgrimage with regular processions from at least the 17th century; that the current church was built or extensively renovated in the 19th century; that the sanctuary was elevated to a minor basilica; and that Saint John Paul II visited it in 1995. The large pilgrimages at the beginning of July bring together tens of thousands of faithful, sometimes more than one hundred thousand.

There is one particularly moving and well-documented chapter: during the communist regime, climbing to the Marian Shrine became a symbol of religious and national resistance. The faithfulness of the pilgrims, who continued to come despite the regime's pressures, is remembered as a true "moral miracle" of perseverance. The Rosary is a central prayer in the night vigils and processions, although, since there was no apparition with a message, the connection stems more from popular Marian spirituality than from an explicit mandate.

Se marca como «no consta» un relato de aparición documentado, distinguiéndolo de la devoción de peregrinación.
