A short distance from Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, lies the town of Yagma, home to the country's main national Marian shrine. There, Our Lady of Yagma is venerated, a destination for large pilgrimages, especially during Marian feasts and national and youth celebrations such as the Solemnity of the Assumption.

This is a case where honesty demands great prudence. Unlike other major shrines, openly available sources do not provide a detailed account of Yagma like Lourdes or Fatima: no apparition, no founding vision, no well-documented miracle. Much of what surrounds this place is transmitted orally, within pastoral circles, without verifiable written documentation.
