Beauraing — History of the apparitions
Beauraing, Namur, Belgium · November 29, 1932 – January 3, 1933
Between November 29, 1932, and January 3, 1933, the Virgin Mary appeared 33 times to five children in Beauraing, Belgium. She identified herself as "Our Lady of Divine Love" and asked for a heart of gold.
The 33 Apparitions
The Virgin Mary appeared 33 times to five children: Fernande (15), Gilberte (13), Albert (11), Andrée (14), and Gilbert (9). The apparitions occurred in the garden of the Voisin brothers, where the children went to school.
The Virgin appeared dressed in white, with a blue mantle. She wore a golden heart on her chest. The children described her beauty as "indescribable."
"I am the Virgin of Divine Love. I want you to build a chapel and pray."
— Virgen de BeauraingThe message
Beauraing's message is brief but profound. The Virgin asked the children to pray, to build a chapel, and to have "a heart of gold." This heart of gold represents charity, love of God and neighbor.
The approval
In 1943, the Bishop of Namur declared that the apparitions had "signs of authenticity" and authorized their veneration. In 1949, the approval was confirmed by the Holy See.
