The story
In 1989, Polish missionaries built a sanctuary in Nyeri, Kenya, dedicated to Our Lady of Czestochowa. The sanctuary houses a replica of the famous image of the Black Virgin of Poland.
Devotion
The Nyeri shrine is the most important Marian pilgrimage center in Kenya. Every year, thousands of faithful come to pray before the image, especially in May and at the Feast of the Assumption.
