In 1348, a few lost host in a river were sustained and returned by fish.
Documented history and memory received
The Archdiocese of Valencia documents the celebration of the 675th anniversary of the Milacre dels Peixets in 2023. According to the popular tradition of 1348, a priest lost shape by crossing the Carraixet ravine and some fish returned them. Alboraia and Almàsera share the memory, although they differ in the number of fish. The hermitage, processions and parish of the Most Holy Sacrament are ecclesial realities; the episode is maintained as tradition, not as zoological observation.
Who venerates the memory
The look is directed to Jesus Christ and to the mystery of his Incarnation, Passion, Death, Resurrection or Reign. The image, relic, monument or custom does not act by its own power: it serves the memory of the Gospel and leads to prayer, sacraments, conversion and charity.
