On the night of July 25, 1969, a sacrilegious robbery took place in the parish church of San Mauro La Bruca. Sixty-three consecrated particles were later found and were linked to a Eucharistic memory that the diocese keeps alive in the sanctuary of Saint Ephemia.
History and Eucharistic Memory
The current diocesan documentation recalls the theft of the sacrary, the recovery of the sixty-three particles and the decision of Bishop Biagio D'Agostino to preserve them and expose them to worship by decree of 1970. The tab is based on this contemporary diocesan continuity. The catalogue associated with Carlo Acutis here contains a reused computer identification of Dronero; therefore, this identifier is not taken as a geographical test.
What the documentation consulted recognizes
The conservation of the species and the authorized veneration are presented as facts of ecclesial memory. No scientific analysis or material statements are added which the diocesan source does not support.
Current location and location
Eucharistic Sanctuary of Santa Euphemia · San Mauro La Bruca. The marker has been placed in the place of worship, commemoration or custody documented; when the attributed origin and current custody differ, the map prefers the latter and expressly declares it.
Sources and editorial criteria
- Diocese of Vallo della Lucania: main ecclesial or institutional source.
- International exhibition on the Eucharistic miracles associated with Carlo Acutis: source of departure and support, compared to the previous one.
There is no tradition as if it were a scientific opinion, or the existence of veneration as if it were automatically equivalent to a formal decree on all the details of the story.
To pray before the Most Holy
Lord Jesus Christ, living bread down from heaven, increases our faith, gives us hunger for your Word and the Eucharist, and make what we worship become concrete charity with our brothers. Amen.
