Documented history
A local historical source collects a letter dated June 18, 1527, attributed to Graziadio da Collio, on the news of the apparition, the offerings and the construction of a chapel authorized by the ecclesiastical authority. The tourist site of Valle Trompia confirms the existence of the shrine of Santa María de la Misericordia, also called Madonna di Bovegno.
Tradition
Tradition tells that Mary Amadini, a young orphan, saw a woman dressed in white who asked for a chapel and a call to conversion. The story is preserved as a local tradition linked to the sanctuary.

The mysterious coins and other family details of the story belong to the devotional production transmitted. There is no independent verification of these details in the sources consulted.
Ecclesial State
They observe the existence of the sanctuary and its public Catholic veneration. It does not contain the title of a decree that formally declares the apparition supernatural; therefore no more precise ecclesial approval is assigned.
Anecdotes and stories

Documentary extension
The historical transcript preserved by the Piardi family identifies 22 May 1527 as the traditional date of the apparition of Maria Amadini, whom she describes as a young orphan of twenty-two years. It also reproduces the letter that Graziadio da Collio sent on June 18 of the same year and that speaks of a woman dressed in white, of the fragrance that would have left in the place and of the rapid influx of donations and workers. The existence of this letter and its content are data of the historical source; they do not in themselves make the account a test of supernatural.
