Meditated Rosary · Healing of family wounds

Every family carries joys and also wounds: distances, words that hurt, absences, unclosed duels. This Rosary puts the whole family - the living and those who have already left - under the eyes of God, asking for their mercy, mutual forgiveness and the peace that only Christ gives. We seek nothing but to open the home to the grace of God, from the hand of Mary.

An important clarification. This Rosary prays for the healing of family relations and injuries y por los of the family, trusting them to the mercy of God. It is not based on the idea of "ancestral sins" or the so-called "healing of the genealogical tree":: the Church (Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and instructions from several episcopal conferences, including the Spanish one) has warned that this theory is not based on Scripture or the Catholic faith. Each one responds from his own actions before God (cf. Ez 18); we pray for our ancestors with love and hope, as the Church has always done for the deceased, not for fear of supposed chains.

How to pray it

Pray the Holy Rosary as usual, with joyful mysteries (the family of Nazareth illuminates every family). Do the initial prayer, receive in every ten the proposed intention, and end with the final prayer. If you want to pray guided, enter Begin the Rosary.

Opening prayer

Holy Family of Nazareth - Jesus, Mary and Joseph - enter my house. Take our joys and our wounds, the words that they healed and those that hurt, those that are and those that have already departed. Heal our relations, teach us to forgive as we have been forgiven, and make our home a place of peace. Amen.

Mysteries and meditations (joyful)

1.º La Anunciación

Mary welcomes God's will with a confident "yes." We ask to know how to say "yes" to God also within the family, without fear of starting again.

Intent: for peace in my home and openness to God's grace.

2.º La Visitación

Mary is on her way to serve and lead Christ. We ask to take the first step towards those who are far away, with humility and tenderness.

Intention: for distanced relatives and broken ties.

3rd The Birth of Jesus

Life is born in the poverty of Bethlehem. We ask that Christ be born again in our house, in the small gestures of every day.

Intention: by children, husbands and the elderly in the family.

4th The Presentation in the Temple

Mary and Joseph offer Jesus to the Father. We ask to offer God our family wounds and our deceased, trusting them to his mercy.

Intention: for the deceased of the family and for the unclosed duels.

5th The Child found in the Temple

After the search and the anguish, the reencounter. We ask for the return of those who have gone away, from God or from the family, and for the joy of the reencounter.

Intention: for those who have gone away and for mutual forgiveness.

Closing prayer

God of mercy, we entrust to you our whole family: those who live and those who rest in your peace. He does not know what is wounded, he reconciles what is divided, and keep us all under Mary's cloak. May one day we all meet, without missing any, in the joy of your house. By Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
