In 1297, the host that a priest could not swallow by a doubt of faith became bloody flesh.
Documented history and memory received
The ancient monastery of San Daniel de Girona retained a cloth called Sant Dubte, associated with a 1297 narrative of a priest who could not have consumed the form. The relic and some of the documentation were lost during the 1936 Civil War. This record retains the historical footprint of a missing cult and does not claim that there is a relic, party or scientific declaration today. The academic source studies the motive within folklore and religious history.
Who venerates the memory
The look is directed to Jesus Christ and to the mystery of his Incarnation, Passion, Death, Resurrection or Reign. The image, relic, monument or custom does not act by its own power: it serves the memory of the Gospel and leads to prayer, sacraments, conversion and charity.
