A consecrated host, desecrated by a woman for a sortilegian, was transformed into flesh and blood; the relic is preserved in Offida.
Documented history and memory received
The diocesan shrine of Offida retains relics associated with a 1273 narrative in Lanciano and transferred to the Marches. The municipality documents the church of San Agustín, its construction and the continuity of the cult. The history of Ricciarella, the tile, the meat and the journey of relics is presented as a medieval tradition, without reproducing it as a judicial record or recommending superstitious conduct. Reparation is directed towards Eucharistic dignity and family peace.
Who venerates the memory
The look is directed to Jesus Christ and to the mystery of his Incarnation, Passion, Death, Resurrection or Reign. The image, relic, monument or custom does not act by its own power: it serves the memory of the Gospel and leads to prayer, sacraments, conversion and charity.
History, tradition and discernment
Shrine and custody documented; medieval narration expressly traditional. The tab retains the memory received without turning legend, witness or believing interpretation into a historically demonstrated fact.
