Marian devotion
Our Lady of Peace and Good Journey
The Virgin of Antipolo, patron of the travelers
Brought from Mexico in the times of the Galeons, the Virgin of Antipolo protected the traverses between Manila and Acapulco. Today the Filipinos entrust him with all his ways.

Origin and history
The image, a size of the Immaculate, was brought from Mexico (New Spain) by Governor Juan Niño de Tabora and arrived in Manila around 1626. At his death he was in the care of the Jesuits and associated himself with Antipolo, where a sanctuary was raised to guard it.
Between the 17th and 18th centuries it was repeatedly embarked on the Galleons of Manila- Acapulco as a protector of travel, with several bailouts attributed in the midst of storms, from where its title "Peace and Good Journey" was born. Antipolo became a great pilgrimage center, famous for its May romaneries.
