Marian Advocations of Mongolia

The little seed of Mary in the steppe

Mongolia has a very small Catholic community (about 1,500 faithful in a country of 3 million), but with a fascinating Marian history. Catholicism arrived in the 13th century during the Mongolian Empire, but disappeared with the Yuan dynasty. The Church was reborn in 1992 after the fall of communism, when three CCM missionaries arrived in Ulan Bator.
