In Kuwait, in the mid-20th century, the devotion to Our Lady of Arabia was born, now the patron saint of the entire Arabian Peninsula; the Catholic life of the country, formed mainly by migrant workers, is concentrated in the Holy Family Cathedral in Kuwait City.

- On December 8, 1948, Ahmadi's chapel was dedicated to the Virgin, a gesture considered the formal beginning of the devotion to Our Lady of Arabia; in 1949, Pius XII personally blessed a statue carved from cedar of Lebanon.
- Many migrant workers say that, upon arriving in the country, their first visit is to the image of Our Lady of Arabia in the cathedral to place their work in her hands.
- During the Iraqi invasion and the Gulf War (1990-1991), foreign Catholics, faced with the difficulty of attending Mass, met discreetly with their families and in small groups to pray the Rosary, asking for the Virgin's intercession for peace and the protection of their families.

Christianity in Kuwait has a history that dates back to apostolic times (in the case of some Eastern traditions) or to the arrival of European missionaries in the 16th and 17th centuries. Devotion to the Virgin Mary, although practiced by a minority of the population, has a significant presence among local Catholic communities. Mary is venerated as the Mother of God and protector of Christians in contexts where they are often a minority.
