Marian calls from Albania
Albania has a Our Lady of Good Counsel, whose icon - according to tradition - flew from Shkodra to Genazzano (Italy) in 1467, when the country fell under the Turks. The Marian faith, which survived the state atheism of communism, reigns in Shkodra and in the Orthodox monasteries of the south as Ardenic y Apolonia. We collect the Latin and Orthodox rites.

It tells the tradition that, when Albania crumbled before the Turks - around the death of Skanderbeg- the venerated icon of the Virgin of Shkodra came off the wall of her church and, wrapped in a cloud, He crossed the Adriatic Sea until the 25 April 1467 on a wall of the Augustine church of Genazzano, near Rome. Two Albanians, Giorgio and De Sclavis, reportedly followed him through the sea. In Genazzano, a notary registered 161 miracles in less than four months. The fresh, finely and with just one palm, remains like suspended to a wall finger, sin soporte visible.
The Albanians never forgot their Virgin: in 1895 it was proclaimed Protector from all of Albania. The Pope Lion XIII, an enthusiastic devotee, added in 1903 the invocation "Mother of the Good Council" to the laurethane litanies even today they pray in the whole world.

- When Albania declared in 1967 only officially atheist state of the world and destroyed the Shkodra sanctuary, and the Virgin of the Good Council's picture was still hanging, in Catholic homes, transmitted from priests to hijos for decades.
