The "Dowry of Mary" that rose from the ashes of the Reformation:
- Walsingham — según la tradición, la Virgen se apareció a lady Richeldis en 1061 pidiéndole reproducir la Santa Casa de Nazaret; nació así la «Nazaret de Inglaterra», meta de reyes y peregrinos hasta que Enrique VIII la arrasó, y restaurada en el siglo XX.
- Aylesford — al carmelita inglés san Simón Stock se le atribuye la visión de la Virgen entregándole el escapulario del Carmen en 1251.
- Ladyewell (Fernyhalgh) — familias católicas mantuvieron vivo su pozo sagrado y la devoción durante siglos de persecución: uno de los pocos santuarios marianos casi ininterrumpidos de Inglaterra.
- Cardigan — su imagen, con un cirio encendido (el Taper), fue hallada según la tradición en el estuario del Teifi; san Juan Pablo II la entronizó como imagen nacional de Gales en 1982.
- Penrhys — santuario medieval ligado a una imagen que, según la tradición, apareció en un árbol; hoy una gran estatua de la Virgen domina el valle del Rhondda.
- Carfin — el «Lourdes escocés», gran gruta creada por el padre Thomas Taylor a comienzos del siglo XX.
