Marian Advocations of Catalonia
Catalonia is the land of Virgin "trobades" - images found in caves, fountains or by animals that scatter the earth - and of mountain shrines with a deep root. Beyond Montserrat, its patron, the Mercè de Barcelona, the Núria del Pirineo, the Tora de Olot - already documented in the 9th century - are shining, Queralt on Berga, the Claitre de Solsona and the advocacy of the Camp de Tarragona and the Terra Alta. Mare de Déu de Bellvitge

Girona
Mare de Déu de Núria
One of the highest Marian shrines in Europe, in a pirenaic valley to which it is zipped; pilgrimage goal since the 12th century, crowned in 1965.

One of the oldest advocations in Catalonia, documented since 872; Romanesque image "verge bruna," patron of Olot and center of the Festes del Tura.

Mare de Déu del Claustre
Jewel of the Catalan Romanesque carved in stone in the 12th century, in a chapel of the Cathedral of Solsona; patron of the city since 1653.

Mare de Déu de l’Acadèmia
"Verge Blanca," patron of Lleida, venerated in the Oratory of the Mariana Academy; proclaimed patron by Pius XII in 1946, prolonges devotion to Santa Maria de la Seu Vella.

Mare de Déu del Tallat
Sanctuary on the top of the Tallat saw, a former priory linked to Poblet; crowned in 1956, it is a pilgrimage centre of l'Urgell, the Segarra and the Conca de Barberà.

Mare de Déu de la Misericòrdia
